Asbestos Abatement Notice: Former Bullard Havens Technical High School

As part of the necessary site preparation for demolition, required asbestos abatement activities will soon commence at the former Bullard Havens Technical High School buildings. 

Official Notice:

The Bullard Havens Technical High School is providing this notice to inform parents, guardians and staff of upcoming asbestos abatement activities at the former Bullard Havens Technical High School buildings. The asbestos abatement is required prior to demolition of the former school buildings and will be performed by a State of Connecticut licensed Asbestos Contractor. The work will also be monitored by a State of Connecticut licensed Asbestos Project Monitor. All interior work will be performed within contained areas. Exterior work will be performed within regulated asbestos removal work areas at which time workers utilizing personal protective equipment including coveralls and respirators may be visible to the general public. During the exterior work, air monitoring will be performed around the exterior of the work area to monitor air quality. The work will be performed with strict controls in place and in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

This work is being conducted under strict regulatory controls by licensed professionals to ensure community safety.
