Program Information

Aviation Technology prepares students with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to pursue careers in the growing aviation and aerospace industries. Students explore the mechanical, electrical and structural systems that keep aircraft operating safely and efficiently while developing skills in safety, precision measurement, troubleshooting and diagnostics.

Through hands-on, project-based learning, students build a foundation in aviation systems and maintenance. Coursework progresses from the fundamentals of tools, measurement and blueprint reading to aircraft electrical systems, structures, flight controls, fuel systems and advanced troubleshooting.

During their senior year, students have the opportunity to apply their skills through an internship or continue their education through dual enrollment at the Stratford Aviation Maintenance Technician program.

  • OSHA 10-Hour General Industry

The Aviation Technology program prepares students to pursue careers in aviation maintenance, aerospace manufacturing and related technical fields, including:

  • Aviation Maintenance Technician

  • Aerospace Manufacturing Technician
  • Aircraft Structures Technician
  • Aircraft Assembly Technician
  • Quality Control or Inspection Technician
  • Aviation and Aerospace Engineering Technician

Students may continue their education after graduation through aviation maintenance and aerospace technology programs. Senior-year students may also have the opportunity to participate in dual enrollment through the Stratford Aviation Maintenance Technician program.
