Congratulations to seniors, Jennifer Baculima and Josilyn Minor who were recognized by the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) at an awards ceremony in Southington at the Aqua Turf.

Students Excel at SkillsUSA Competition

Congratulations to the students who represented Bullard-Havens at the annual SkillsUSA Competition. Electrical senior Porter Bember, won first place in Skills Connect Electrical. He will be travewling to Louisville, Kentucky this June with Skills to compete nationally.

Teacher of the Year Announced

Congratulations to Bullard-Havens 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Sara Rolleri. Mrs. Rolleri has been a Mathematics Instructor at BHT for 11 years. The staff and students are very lucky to have Mrs. Rolleri at Bullard-Havens.

Motivational Speaker Addresses Students

Motivational Speaker, Mark Minella, spoke to the freshmen and junior classes this past week. He spoke about loving and respecting others as well as working hard to create a positive future. His message addressed the importance of not making excuses and doing the right thing.

UBE Attends True Colors Conference

The United By Equality (UBE) Club attended the annual True Colors Conference at UCONN Storrs this past Friday. The students enthusiastically participated in workshops, met other students from many Connecticut High Schools and had a fun day.

Two Juniors Receive Youth Service Award

On Saturday, March 18th at Oronoque Country Club, the Greater Bridgeport Chapter of the National Council of Negro Women recognized two Bullard Havens Technical High School students with the Youth Service Award.

Students Attend Career Fair

Students in grades 9-12 attended a Career Fair put together by Ms. Huber, 10th grade School Counselor and the Shop Instructors.  Shops were represented with agencies ranging from The City of Bridgeport- OSHA and Youth Works to NAPA Autoparts and Ironworkers.

UBE Club Attends Play at Long Wharf Theatre

Members of the United by Equality Club recently went to the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven to see the production of Napoli Brooklyn by Meghan Kennedy. The play takes place in Brooklyn and tells the story of an Italian family coming to age in a rapidly changing world.
